Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Cheeseburger:
1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)
4 slices of gourmet cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or Gruyère)
4 burger buns, toasted
1 cup fresh arugula
1 large tomato, sliced
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional: Dijon mustard or aioli
For the Roasted Steak Fries:
2 large russet potatoes, cut into wedges
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Grilled Peppers and Onions:
2 bell peppers (red, yellow, or green), sliced
1 large onion, sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
Recipe Instructions:
Prepare the Steak Fries:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Season the Potatoes:
Toss the potato wedges with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Roast:
Spread the wedges on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Prepare the Grilled Vegetables:
Season the Peppers and Onions:
Toss the sliced peppers and onions with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Grill:
Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat. Grill the vegetables for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until charred and tender. Set aside.
Prepare the Cheeseburger:
Form the Patties:
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties slightly larger than the buns. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Cook the Patties:
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes per side, adding the cheese during the last minute of cooking to melt it.
Toast the Buns:
Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a skillet until golden.
Assemble the Burgers:
Spread a layer of Dijon mustard or aioli on the bottom bun (optional).
Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on the bun.
Add a slice of tomato, a handful of arugula, and the top bun.
Serve:
Plate the burgers with a side of roasted steak fries.
Serve the grilled peppers and onions either on the side or as an additional burger topping.
